Mir Station System/Subsystem Activities
Early today, the gyrodynes were reactivated. Six were nominally spun up, but four appear to have sustained damage to the electronic control units during the off-nominal powerdown of Kvant-2 following Sunday’s failure. The crew is working today to replace these electronics units, and flight controllers hope to get those four gyrodynes spun up this evening. On the final comm pass of the evening, Mike reported that he could hear the four gyrodynes spinning up.

Kristall batteries have been reconnected, and SRV-K and SRV-U are on.

Stowage/Transfer – MOST informed Mike that a new r/g containing items to be transferred during the docked phase (non-prepack) was in work. Mike expressed concern that as many items a possible be prepacked, i.e., docked phase time needs to be used for handover. On the next comm pass, MOST provided Mike with an overview of what his docked phase activities will be, as well as those of the NASA 6 crewmember.
SMP/Medical – A no mission impact Private Medical Conference (PMC) was completed today.
