Editor’s note: The graphic shown here is the work of a team of students from the University of Texas at Austin who were enrolled in a jointly listed class for both advertising and radio, television and film students conducted by Professor Neal M. Burns. Part of the course assignment involved participating in the NASA Means Business 2005 effort.

The following schools were finalists and presented their work at the Cocoa Beach May 25-27; Arizona State University, The Art Institute of Phoenix, Bentley College, University of New Hampshire, Utah State University and The University of Texas at Austin.

The University of Texas at Austin effort and the piece shown here was led by the following graduate students from the Department of Advertising: Jessica Lin, Creative Director; Spencer Whelan, Web Master; Stephanie Skaggs, copywriter, Katherine Franklin, Account Planner and Sounthaly Outhavong, Account Supervisor.

The intent of the ad was to devise a message that would enhance the perception of the relevance and relationship of NASA work and Return To Flight to life on earth. The Team’s efforts were funded in large part by donations from The Space Alliance and The Co-op Bookstore at the Univerisyt of Texas at Austin.
