Colleagues:

The demands and constraints on NASA’s budget have produced cutbacks in the Agency’s institutional budget and a need to reduce our Center overhead costs. Our fiscal year 2007 institutional budget process included a thorough review of all institutional services and has resulted in cuts to Center custodial services. These cuts, although inconvenient, do not impact the Center’s ability to accomplish its mission.

Reductions in the custodial services budget will result in cutbacks to office trash pick up, office cleaning, restroom cleaning, and in periodic services such as carpet shampooing, stripping and waxing, and window washing. These decisions were vetted through various levels of Center management up to and including the Executive Council. If you have any comments or questions, please contact your directorate Facilities Utilization Review Board representative, or Andre Jackson at x6-7811.
