Ex-top NASA official charged in Mississippi, Houston Chronicle
"A former high-ranking NASA official pleaded not guilty Monday to nine federal charges accusing him of steering a $600,000 contract to Mississippi State University, a client of his consulting firm. Courtney A. Stadd had already been convicted of steering a different contract for almost $10 million to the university. Stadd was sentenced in November to three years probation."

I've known Courtney Stadd for nearly 20 years and thought the trumped up charges in the first prosecution against him were over the top and without base but this new set of charges reveals a whole new level of prosecutorial harassment and ruthlessness. Not satisified with ruining a man's life, career and reputation; and certainly not satisfied with the punishment rendered by the Judge in the first case, federal prosecutors have decided to change the venue and make even bigger accusations against him in search of the vengeance they so covet.
Courtney's contributions to the space community are far and wide and as someone who has proudly had the chance to work with him in a number of different areas I am hopeful that this on-going nightmare will end for him and his family very soon. Until then, he and his family will have to endure another season of hell from those bent on his personal destruction - all at taxpayer expense.
It is my hope and prayer that the facts come out and are seen for what they are - the TRUTH and his complete exoneration will come about.
