NASA LRO Lunar Image: A Detailed Look at the Walls of Crater Aristarchus
“No wonder planners for the Apollo missions put this plateau high on its list of targets for human exploration. This amazing image was acquired on 10 November 2011 as LRO passed north-to-south about 70 km east of the crater’s center.”

This reminds me, I have long wondered why NASA doesn’t put together rover missions for the moon.  The Soviets did it over 40 years ago, so I don’t see why we could not do it today, and fairly inexpensively.  There is a lot to see on the moon, as exemplified by this particular picture.

Mars = romance, the Moon = commerce.  There are actually those who think that we have learned all that we can from the Moon, that it is a dead world without any surprises.

      Many surprises await.
