Lisa Porter Is Job Hunting

Leader of ‘Darpa for Spies’ Steps Down, WIred
“Porter started her government career as a Darpa program manager, before becoming the head of NASA’s aeronautics division. Bringing that Darpa-esque spirit to the intelligence world wasn’t always easy. Not long after Iarpa was cobbled together from research groups within the National Security Agency, the CIA, and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, Porter faced an exodus of talent. The old guard just wasn’t used to the Darpa combination of far-off end goals with very measurable steps to those goals along the way. Nor did they appreciate her in-the-weeds approach to managing research projects. …. It’s not clear what Porter’s next step will be. But it’s worth noting that the director of Darpa recently stepped down. Porter has repeatedly been mentioned as a potential successor.”

Where ever she ends up, it will be a total disaster.  She left NASA Aeronautics in ruins and it sounds like dysfunctional organizations follows where she goes.  BTW, I like the picture you still use of her, I bet it makes her mad every time she see it.

You can see the train wreck coming for any organization who brings her in to lead. Unfortunately such inept, political people like Lisa worm their way into high positions in Government. NASA ditched her into iarpa – thinking she would help bring funds in.Instead she refuses to fund world class labs like Sandia, laNL, NASA, jpl…and instead funds pet companies. Likewise she will seek revenge on iarpa who is trying to ditch her to DARPA. she already worked for DARPA- and they ditched her to NASA. and now we come full circle- DARPA supposedly wants her now- again? Can’t they send her to ‘help’ the Russia or China?

They ought to have their heads examined! As somebody who
witnessed her “in the weeds management style” first hand, she is a joke. I
blame her for single handily destroying Aeronautics at NASA especially flight
testing. Read the reports from the GSA and NRC about NASA aero and you’ll get
    an ideal of her legacy.

Uh oh. Hope DARPA reads NASAWatch.

    She
looked relatively lot better since the previous Adm had destroyed the system.
She did reverse the funds that was recklessly outsourced by previous
bean-counter However she did some childish mistakes say dividing the research
based on speed than disciplines. She introduced flaky metric requirements.
Appointed some hand-picked goofy PI who unfortunately still continuing say in
SFW and SRW. Analysis tools have barely made any progress because of vested
interests by these PIs. Goofy PIs are still  thriving on loop-holes she created such as
metrics for their job security. Also she did not forget to make sure her alma
mater gets a good share of the resources and always she wanted them around her.
