From geek dad’s perspective it was a pretty amazing year. I visited KSC with my daughter for the first time last november for the MSL launch which was an experience of a lifetime for me. The SpaceX launches to the ISS were pretty cool. Then PlanetFest with both daughters and all the Planetary folks was awesome including the successful MSL landing. Watching Endeavour fly over Ames was bitter sweet having seen her at KSC in her real home.

BTW, NatGeo magazine for January 2013 is a special 125 year edition on Exploration. Also, Jan. 2013 SciAm Mag has an article about Star Ships.
