NASA GSFC center director Chris Scolese just refered to #JWST cost overrun as "that little hiccup a while back" #clueless
— NASA Watch (@NASAWatch) February 3, 2014
Mikulski on #JWST " I saved you from the Tea Party and how they wanted to make quick fixes" #NASA

If #JWST cost overrun Chris Scolese mentioned was just a "hiccup" then why did @SenatorBarb say she had to work so hard to save funding?

Keith's update: As you will see below this just got sillier when NASA GSFC PAO responded.
NASA GSFC PAO tweeted this - they won't discuss or admit what Scolese said but instead they want to use a Jedi mind trick to make what he said just go away.
@NASAWatch @SenatorBarb "Chris Scolese is focused on keeping #JWST on track and on schedule for launch in '18." 1/2
— NASA Goddard (@NASAGoddard) February 3, 2014
@NASAWatch @SenatorBarb "The earlier issues have been addressed and corrected." 2/2

Keith's update:
Ball tries to stick its foot into this Twitter discussion - then they make a marketing quip, say it wasn't their fault, and stick their head in the sand. My bad the Tweet from Ball came on the heels of my Twitter exchange with GSFC PAO but the Tweets form Ball were actually referring to the comment made during the event about the similarity between mirror segment containers and the seed pods in the film "Alien". Again, my bad.
@NASAWatch @NASAGoddard Yes, that was a comparison made later in the program this morning!
— Ball Aerospace (@BallAerospace) February 3, 2014
.@BallAerospace so - do you and @NASAGoddard agree that characterizing #JWST huge cost overrun as a "hiccup" is accurate?
— NASA Watch (@NASAWatch) February 3, 2014
@NASAWatch @NASAGoddard: We were on the BALL w/#JWST, all mirrors delivered on-time and cost per contract. Can't comment beyond our scope.
