I remember a time when the best “special effects” of TV and movie footage came from NASA, and it was all real. These days I find more people confuse CGI with the real thing, or use fictional space for examples of desired methods of engineering practice. There’s nothing wrong with getting inspired by Star Trek to pursue a career in science and engineering. Do need to understand super-luminal flight requires a whole new physics.
