Keith’s note: Dan Dumbacher is leaving NASA In June to take a tenured position at Purdue University in their aerospace engineering department.

    Dan is a real person, not one of the mind-numbing autobots that (generally) occupy policy jobs in DC. This is a great opportunity to give back to the next generation, something that is dear to him. His thoughtful leadership will be missed.

    He can probably inform the students how not to do space flight.

    Umm…I’ve not seen an official memo? If true, it makes me wonder if something else is afoot we have not heard about publicly? Has a key stakeholder spelled out the future of SLS, or lack thereof, to Dumbacher? I’d keep an eye out for the second shoe to drop here. Somethings up.

    Nothing is up he is just retiring. Civil Servants get a good deal and I hope more can take advantage of retirement. I have a list.
