Keith, I have to admit… I almost spewed my coffee on that one…. smiles

Keith, I didn’t know the Atlas V got 2 Russian engines on the first stage. Are you confusing the 2 nozzles of the RD-180 as individual engine nozzle?

I see… So you’re saying that President Trump should have somehow magically changed the Atlas-V to RS-82 overnight or something?

This is a LITTLE misleading considering Trump had nothing to do with this launch/payload or anything else.

NASA has a habit of moving launch dates. You did see the pictures where Obama visited KSC, walked around the Falcon 9 launch pad with Elon Musk, incited every shuttle and ISS crew to the Oval Office, etc.

Now that you mention schedule uncertainty, I believe the vice president often ends up representing the administration at events where that is an issue. Did Mr. Biden ever attended a launch? Or, to make it a fair comparison, when was the last time a president or vice president did?

What point are you trying to make? Really.

If someone wants to use attendance to a launch as a sign of presidential interest, I’d like to know how many times past presidents or vice presidents have been to launches. For that matter, how often do NASA administrators attend? I’m thinking of a number, not an impression based on busy schedules and launch delays.
