Warm welcome in CO. Going to @LockheedMartin Waterton Canyon for briefing on innovations that will help bring new era of US space leadership pic.twitter.com/ApvoCNEQpZ
I expect LMA will make the most of his visit, but the story about their third quarter profits is a little bit off the mark. Most of the difference from last year seem to be from their spacecraft manufacturing division (down a quarter of a billion…) But that’s a group that builds very expensive, custom or one-off spacecraft, and is only working on a hand full at any given time. We’d really need to see what projects ended last quarter and which start up next quarter. The statistical fluctuations could easily be 50% from quarter to quarter.
Lockheed Martin missed its earnings for its space business, so they will probably do their best to impress.
