Just In Time For Breakfast in Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan
Returning To Earth At Dawn
“The Soyuz MS-06 spacecraft is seen as it lands with Expedition 54 crew members Joe Acaba and Mark Vande Hei of NASA and cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin near the town of Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 (February 27 Eastern time.) Acaba, Vande Hei, and Misurkin are returning after 168 days in space where they served as members of the Expedition 53 and 54 crews onboard the International Space Station. Glad the crew got back safely. And Bill Ingalls is a genius. Jus’ sayin’
It’s really not Keith’s point, but whenever I see stories of Soyuz I am reminded: It is easy to poke a bit of fun at the Russian outmoded tech. On the other hand, they are still flying.
I think it’s an unanticipated side-effect of using Soyuz … that these returns are virtually unreported; very little public recognition of these activities.
