IF he is re-elected AND IF Republicans keep control of the House. The latter is looking less certain than the former.

In that case then the chair of the Science Committee would likely go to Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson.

Does anyone have a ‘read’ on Rep. Johnson? Her SLS views, for instance, or other causes she cherishes?

I do know that she is sensible on climate change.

I see that the venerable Rep from California is a ⅓ candidate now according to 538. But given the weight of this particular person and his access to $$$, who knows?

So I assume that means that Rep. Frank Lucas is looking to take over the House Banking Committee. If Rep. Rohrabacher is defeated that would put Rep. Brooks next in line, a clear victory for the SLS/Orion supporters.

    1) the 2 polls lsted by RealClearPolitics show the race moving from Rohrabacher being -2 to tied, the trajectory being in his favor. Also,

    2) NYT poll “The margin of sampling error on the overall lead is nine points” Nine points?? They may as well be throwing darts ?
