Cameron Smith Is Available To Help NASA Build Those New Spacesuits
Keith’s note: There are thousands – millions of people like this guy. If NASA can expand its efforts to attract and encourage this sort of enthusiasm – at all age levels – then there is no limit to where NASA – America – can go in space.
I think Jeff Bezos is working on this with his Club of the Future. Yes, there is a lot of talent out there that could be organized.
Inspiring nice find Keith Thanks
Interesting to see the hands-on activity, you can see this is a real effort. When I see projects that show pristine development areas, I tend to think of those as make-believe like a Hollywood set.
Great response to “is this a suicide mission” which Cameron feels is a ridiculous question as this is a very expensive way to kill yourself, and eight years to do so.
I’m highly impressed with his project (and the work of the semi-amateur spacesuit give guys). But, I can’t get one of the Knights in Monty Python and the Holy Grail out of my mind, the guy with the flip-visor…
Technically he built a partial pressure suit. But still very cool, nonetheless.
Hi just to clarify, we have five operational suits at present and none are partial pressure suits. These are all gas pressure suits operable to 3.5psig with 100% oxygen. cheers Cameron
Good to hear a new voice hereabouts.
I applaud his efforts, but building your life support system out of non-space rated components is a suicide attempt.
Keep going sir and get rid of the household and commercial grade plumbing!
