    Ah, yes, I can see NASA bureaucrats continuing to undermine the Trump administration because there is no reason to believe that the original 2028 plan was in any way going to be done.

    This reminds me of the “plan” they produced in 2017 that showed yearly cis-lunar orbits with SLS/Orion starting in 2020. Nothing but a joke.

        Not simple but surely problems that have already been solved. A competent organization would look at those solutions and work on improvements.

        Do you really think NASA was on track for a 2028 landing? I have bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

    The question is exactly how much sway and influence does this committee really have over the future plans and outcomes of our space program? Or are they just talking and writing into the wind?

      It’s a formal advisory committee. That means NASA has to listen to and respond to their recommendations. And the response has to be more than blowing them off. I believe that’s the same status as the Aerospace Safety Advisory Panel, and when they had concerns about commercial crew, NASA had to address them.
