I’m willing to forgive Thomas a few zeros in that trillion. Actually both trillions, since he also said that about the number of exoplanets… But if you count the total value of every satellite launched since 1958, a trillion dollars might not be that far off. I guess there’s some uncertainty about what amounts to an impeachable offense, but a rhetorical exaggeration by a factor of a few probably isn’t over that line.
