“Oops, there’s the President. OK, I will just stand as straight as I can and answer any questions he has. Thank goodness I just took off my mask!”

Any discussion about scrubbing the launch? Yes, must adhere to weather restrictions and many accept this (it goes with the business of very complex systems) so restart and prepare for Saturday. But we argue about who has to wear a mask and who doesn’t. Other than that interesting pressure suits they wore, the actual Dragon looks quite sleek inside. I find the capsule shape allow more space unlike Apollo shape of Orion and Starliner. I can understand why Apollo was designed that way in 1960, old space following trandition? Dragon has means of stability and control to allow larger dimensions? Perhaps the info is out there, I haven’t spent a huge amount of time looking for it. Yes, I’m diverging from theme of this thread.

I can imagine launch criteria for this not as strict as for Shuttle which also had weather constraints of trans atlantic abort landing sites. I did read various debates why FL with unpredictable weather, and yes many attempt to explain the reasons why. I’ve read there never has been a weather scrub in Baikonur because there is no “weather,” it’s either hot or cold.

Actually weather requirements for the Dragon2 may be more restrictive because of the ocean conditions required for launch aborts.

In the last hours of the countdown, Bridenstein and other top officials were busy giving Trump and wife a tour of the center. Note who is and is not wearing masks.

I know that these officials had no hands-on duties for the launch and were certainly being kept updated, but it just doesn’t seem good press to be seen serving as tour guides at such a critical time.
