NASA Offers Guidelines To Protect Historic Sites On The Moon
“NASA and the X Prize Foundation of Playa Vista, Calif., announced Thursday the Google Lunar X Prize is recognizing guidelines established by NASA to protect lunar historic sites and preserve ongoing and future science on the moon. The foundation will take the guidelines into account as it judges mobility plans submitted by 26 teams vying to be the first privately-funded entity to visit the moon.”
So when are we likely to see HDTV from one of the Apollo sites?
Just as soon as the Chinese get there! They should bring back some of
hardware we left (or else some of the ‘trash’ we left behind) to prove they were there. Maybe they could also take up some new batteries and upgraded charging system to see if one of the Rovers could be brought back to life? More pwer to them!
Thanx,

Dusty the bear.
After 40 years, I think we can call the sites “abandoned”.
There is an attempt to form lunar property rights by using the keep out areas around the Apollo sites as a precedent. I hope the sites are respected.
If anyone wants to see what happens if they DON’T set up some guidelines, find and watch the first couple episodes of an old TV show called “Salvage One”, starring Andy Griffith.
