New Image Shows Charon’s Chasms and Craters
“New Horizons’ newest images reveal Pluto’s largest moon Charon to be a world of chasms and craters. The most pronounced chasm, which lies in the southern hemisphere, is longer and miles deeper than Earth’s Grand Canyon, according to William McKinnon, deputy lead scientist with New Horizon’s Geology and Geophysics investigation team.”

    1. To a few like me, and you, but to the general population? I have my doubts.

“How much did that cost? Really? It’s just another damn rock!”

The news just came on as I write this. No mention of New Horizons. Lots of talk about the political horserace- nothing about issues, as usual, just who is winning, who’s gaffe is the latest.

New Horizons won’t catch public interest. Alas.

      1. I know allot of people on her bash fox news and republicans as being anti-science. But so far fox news is the only web site that has this as the lead story. At least as of 8:15 this morning.

Sorry, that trash tabloid permanently established its reputation for scientific illiteracy generations ago. If they told me the sky is blue, I’d double check their sources and look for independent confirmation.

      2. There’s plenty of coverage in the UK media, it’s on of the ‘headlines’ in the BBC news

    2. Missions like these show NASA at its best.
