Don't Bother Calling CASIS About Contracts
Reader note: “FYI I tried to reach CASIS by phone. When you call their CASIS Corporate Headquarters listed here i.e. 321.253.5101 and hit 3 for “Contracts” you get a dead end. Your call is eventually disconnected.
I have tried to talk to them several times, they make it difficult to find who is doing something and difficult to contact them. Messages left are not answered.
They have no idea where they are going or how to get there.
I’ve had similar experiences. They do not seem to be able to explain what they are doing.
I saw a picture recently of CASIS and ISS people meeting scientists to provide an overview of ISS science activities. This was described as a major meeting between National Lab reps and prospective PIs. It appeared that there were about 3 ISS/CASIS people talking to about 3 or 4 “scientists” and even then I’m not sure the audience were scientists or space people from NASA or a contractor. This was part of the ISS exhibit in California.
I don’t think they are being too effective. I’ve not seen or heard about too many new investigations flying on ISS. They keep highlighing the same old…
I think that the entire organization is clueless.
I encourage you to download the Space Station Research Explorer. It’s a new app for iOS and Android that shows all of the experiments that have been done, and are being done, on the ISS by all partners.
