How Commercial Companies Are Advancing Space Exploration, Newsy
“He says, ‘I want to die on Mars, just not on impact,'” editor for Spaceref.com Keith Cowing said. “I’ve known Elon forever, for like 20 years. I met him when he was actually a kid and I was a lot younger with less gray hair. So, for him to do this doesn’t surprise me. He’s always just been as awed by this stuff as anybody else, which I think is kind of important when you’re trying to do audacious things.”

I would agree with your statements IF NASA were actually selecting advanced technology or purely scientific efforts to pursue.

NASA does science when it comes to unmanned, astronomy and planetary missions.

When it comes to human space flight Musk and Space X are pursuing advanced technologies. Some other might be right behind them. NASA on the other hand is trying to continue their 1960s model of Apollo. NASA is not pursuing advanced technologies at all. When it comes to science in human space flight mainly NASA is just trying to justify what it is doing with big, expensive, slow moving, archaic systems.

I hope Musk’s Star Liner will be successful. If it is, then I expect NASA’s Constellation, Artemis, SLS, Orion kluge will be put out of its misery and we will all be better off for it.

Don’t blame NASA for the sins of Congressional Critters. NASA do what the Congress told it to do.

Please don’t confuse the SpaceX Starship with the Boeing Starliner.

Blame Congress and its system of grift, not NASA.
