Congress Is Democratic Opposition To Bridenstine Wavering? By Keith Cowing NASA Watch January 18, 2018 Filed under Bridenstine Interestingly only one Democrat spoke at all about Bridenstine and it was @SenBillNelson. 4 Republicans spoke out in support of Bridenstine. — NASA Watch (@NASAWatch) January 18, 2018 Looks like a lot of democrats did not bother to show up for today's Executive Session on nominees to support @SenBillNelson — NASA Watch (@NASAWatch) January 18, 2018 Keith Cowing NASA Watch founder, Explorers Club Fellow, ex-NASA, Away Teams, Journalist, Space & Astrobiology, Lapsed climber. 3 responses to “Is Democratic Opposition To Bridenstine Wavering?” Mark Thompson says: January 18, 2018 at 10:24 pm 0 0 I agree with the NASA Watch tweets. I get that this guy is not Nelson’s or Rubio’s first choice, but neither one is president. I don’t view space as a Trump priority so if they block him, the post may remain open, severely damaging NASA. Even if Trump appoints a new admin, by the time he or she comes up for a vote, the Dems may control Congress. Yeah Bridenstine may not be everyone’s first choice, buy someone is better than no one. sunman42 says: January 19, 2018 at 2:09 am 0 0 Having lived through Daniel Goldin and Mike Griffin, I believe there are some who would disagree. MarcNBarrett says: January 19, 2018 at 1:01 am 0 0 The possible government shutdown is sucking all the O2 out of the air in Washington. Democrats are much more concerned about that than NASA right now.
