Joe Biden's Comments On The Demo-2 Launch
Statement by Vice President Joe Biden on Today’s Successful SpaceX Launch at Cape Canaveral, Joe Biden
“I congratulate NASA, SpaceX, and all the hardworking women and men who made today a victory for American innovation and persistence. This mission represents the culmination of work begun years ago, and which President Obama and I fought hard to ensure would become a reality. We planted the seeds of today’s success during the 2009 Recovery Act, which according to NASA, has saved taxpayers up to $30 billion and invigorated an aerospace industry in Florida that accounts for more than 130,000 jobs in the state. As President, I look forward to advancing America’s commitment to pursuing space exploration and unlocking scientific discoveries that will inspire a new generation of dreamers to gaze up at the sky and imagine all that our future may hold.”
Here’s Joe Biden doing his “I’m the guy!” schtick, taking credit for funding NASA in 2009. Is there anything he hasn’t done?
He did not invent the internet. Someone else did that.
Their administration did request full funding for the commercial contracts, which Congress cut back at appropriation time. Claiming support for the project is both reasonable and accurate.
I believe this is the first real statement by VP Biden on space for this campaign. Glad he decided to release a statement.
Not that he wrote it.
I would hope that any president would not be writing such a routine statement. That’s not what they’re paid for. The tone of such a statement says a lot. This one is absent of any self congratulation or denigration of others, which is quite refreshing.
As the Administration is busy shooting itself in the foot on space policy, and Covid policy, would be the worst possible time to unveil a new initiative.
As vice president he pretty much tried to shut down NASAs human space flight program. But now he supports space exploration?
Please cite references to show that Biden” pretty much tried to shut down NASAs human space flight program”. Seriously cite quotes and sources.
