More Feedback To NASA On Their Beta Website
Keith’s note: I got a note back from NASA PAO in response to my comments on their new beta website yesterday: “Thank you for taking the time to check out the beta site. We’ve forwarded your comments to the team members who are working in real-time to continue updating and improving the new site. We appreciate feedback, and don’t hesitate to let us know if you find other issues or questions.” I replied: “Thanks. Here’s more – Comments generated in real time – if a 67 year old guy sitting in his basement can find all these errors in a matter of minutes doing random clicking – yet your IT contractor has not even thought to do in-house beta testing FIRST before inviting millions of people to weigh in – then you have a problematic website contractor. Just sayin'” [my detailed additional comments below.]
Today’s list:
If you go to the news page https://beta.nasa.gov/news/all-news/ – nothing in search results has a date on them on it. NASA needs to list the date that each “news” item was originally posted otherwise readers have no idea if the link is relevant unless they click on it and see the date. Or they may not see the date and assume an old piece of news is a new piece of news.
News and Events does not point to a calendar or any “events”
NASA Media Contacts – only shows phone numbers for centers – no link to their media page or email or social media etc.
I checked The Solar System, The Universe, Science & Research and there is no link to NASA’s Astrobiology program (where UAP-inclined people might want to find things). When I use your search engine for “astrobiology” there is no mention whatsoever of http://astrobiology.nasa.gov (the main NASA Astrobiology website) – yet the now-defunct NASA Astrobiology institute is featured in a bunch of 2013 links.
If I search for “UAP” or “U.A.P” I get “Search Results for: UAP Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with some different keywords.” So guess what the UAP fans are going to start to think i.e. that NASA is suppressing information.
When I search for “heatwave” I get a bunch of news from several years ago.
When I search for “National Space Council” the top result shows Trump signing something. Followed by a link to a page with a big picture of Pence.
That’s all. I have real work to do.

Its almost like the people doing this never thought about what was important to NASA or to the public. The approach they used might have been dumbed down, ‘like lets approach it as though these are the answers people who dont know anything about NASA or space might ask.’
Misguided effort from the start.
