NAC chair @waynehale notes that he has problems navigating the NASA,gov website and that there is no real way fro people to volunteer to help or find out about opportunities.
NASA Advisory Council members wonder why no one from the public asks questions during NAC meetings. 99.999% of the American public has no idea that these meetings even happen. No one reads the Federal Register. Small wonder no one in the real world participates.
#NASA NAC is thrilled that 117 actual people dialed in. Yes its a boring FACA advisory committee – so why would the remaining 382 million Americans be interested? Ans: make it interesting & relevant to the people who pay for the party & tell them how to listen in and participate.
Just one – ONE – tweet from @NASA or a mention at https://t.co/hVuxAZ4waX and tens of millions of people would know that the NASA Advisory Committee meeting on Human Exploration is underway. But that simple thing is too hard for #NASA PAO to get their minds outside their bubble.
Phil McAlister is talking on commercial things at NAC HEO. NASA often puts charts up like this with obscure metrics like "10.3 million concurrent viewers". But when you ask them (I have) what that actually means i.e. TV, Youtube, Twitter, they won't explain. pic.twitter.com/7YrCvphF3y
