Space colonizers

Keith’s note: AIAA’s official Magazine Aerospace America has just published “Occupation, even in orbit, is colonialism“. Really AIAA? Do AIAA members and member companies know that they’re complicit in the “occupation” & “colonialization” of space? There is no “opinion” or AIAA disclaimer annotation on this article. Any thoughts AIAA CEO Dan Dumbacher? Its one thing to be concerned (most rightfully so) about congestion in space, space debris, etc. But to assert that the countries, organizations, companies, and individuals who are making the most of space – and exploring it – are engaging in a “colonial occupation” of space is simply nuts. I guess we’re not doing that whole “space faring” thing any more. And forget the whole multi-national (and growing) Artemis Accords thing too. Just sayin’.

  1. Well, his October column celebrates our inevitable assimilation by the Borg. It’s clearly an opinion column, but yeah… they need a disclaimer before corporate money goes away…
