JSC's Warp Drive Gizmo Fails More Tests
JSC's Warp Drive Gizmo Fails More Tests

EmDrive, a Supposed Fuel-less Engine, Is Knocked Down Again, Gizmodo “Five years ago, NASA researchers experimented with an object called the EmDrive (or electromagnetic drive), a Y-shaped metal chamber in which, they reported, thrust could be produced without propellant. Such a contraption would refute core principles of physics as we know them and eliminate a huge barrier to deep space travel by nullifying the need to carry fuel. … If […]

Cruz’s test: how to keep Houston central to space flight [Editorial] “But the flesh-and-blood part of the techno-wizardry of the Space program has always run first through Houston. Not Huntsville, Cape Canaveral nor any of many NASA facilities around the country. Isn’t the Texas congressional delegation disproportionately influential on this issue? It sure ought to be. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas chairs the Senate subcommittee on space. Rep. Brian Babin […]

NASA OIG Slaps JSC and NSBRI Over Improper Use of Funds

NASA OIG: Audit of the National Space Biomedical Research Institute “We found that NSBRI delivered research products that helped NASA make progress toward the goal of mitigating human health and performance risks associated with space travel. However, while most NSBRI charges complied with applicable laws and the award’s terms, NASA improperly permitted NSBRI to use $7.8 million of research funds to renovate and pay rent for laboratory space in a […]

Devastatingly Bad Weather Headed For Johnson Space Center

Harvey forecast to slam Texas coast as major hurricane with ‘devastating’ flood potential “An incredible amount of rain, 15 to 25 inches with isolated amounts of up to 35 inches, is predicted along the middle and upper Texas coast, because the storm is expected to stall and unload torrents for four to six straight days. EmDrive: Nasa Eagleworks confirms paper on controversial space propulsion is under peer review, International Business Times “The Eagleworks Lab is NOT dead and we continue down the path set by our NASA management. Past that I can’t say more other than to listen to Dr Rodal on this topic, and please have patience about when our next EW paper is going to be published. Peer reviews are glacially slow,” Eagleworks […]

Hey NASA: This Is The Droid You Were Looking For

Keith’s note: Too bad NASA JSC’s R5 Robot is broken – and when it does work it can only do so on tethers and hoists. This Boston Dynamics robot can follow you home through the woods and then clean up your garage. Or pick up moon rocks and put them inside the sample return vehicle. – Is JSC’s R5 Droid Worth Fixing?, earlier post – Too bad NASA’s R5 robot […]

NASA's Multimillion Dollar Dancing Droid

Keith’s note: NASA’s R5 robot can’t complete any of the tasks it was designed to do and placed last in DARPA’s challenge in 2013. So NASA sent the robot to two universities in 2015 to see if some students could fix it. NASA refuses to tell you how much this robot cost, why it was developed, or how it works. But before they sent their broken droids off to college […]
