NASA GSFC Engineering Technology Directorate

Keith’s note: This email was sent to employees at the Engineering Technology Directorate at NASA GSFC. It would appear that these GSFC employees are now going to be working on “national security technologies” – despite the fact that NASA is a civilian space agency. Full email below.

Subject: Continuing Our Work Together

ETD Teammates:

Welcome back. I know the past several weeks have been challenging for many — both personally and professionally. I want to thank you for the patience, resilience, and commitment you’ve shown through it all. As we all return to normal operations, it’s important to recognize that our immediate focus must remain on continuity — safely maintaining progress on mission-critical work, supporting one another, and preparing for any additional guidance that may follow.

I want to reinforce the agency’s commitment to working diligently to process back pay, reimbursements, and any pending administrative actions, as quickly as possible. We know how much this matters — thank you for your patience as we get everything finalized. Please remember to visit our Post-Shutdown OneNASA page for updates and more. If you have other questions or concerns, please speak to your supervisor.

Our leadership team also has made it clear that senior leadership approvals and backlogs are being prioritized to help everyone return to normal operations smoothly and efficiently. It is paramount we all work together to continue delivering on our mission and serving the American people with the excellence and integrity that define this organization. Our team’s ability to remain nimble and adaptable as decisions continue to evolve will be key to maintaining long-term progress.

For us across the Engineering and Technology Directorate, our focus now is on meeting our commitments, Moon-to-Mars, Planetary Defense and National Security technologies.

No matter what comes ahead, our commitment remains the same — to advance the nation’s capabilities and support both the agency’s mission and the people who make it all possible.

Thank you again for your professionalism and teamwork.

Pretty sure it has always been thus. I remember a classified opportunity at Goddard that I couldn’t work on as my clearance had timed out.

    Oh, yeah… two other things.
    I remain hopeful because of
    1) the comma, rather than a colon, following the word “commitments”
    2) the complete lack of competence within this administration.
