Now You See It – Now You Don't

Keith’s note:For a while this page at NASA.gov had Space Biology Program Awards Space Biology Research Grants awards listed by congressional district. Then they took it offline. NASA has not explained why this information was removed – nor why it was online in the first place. Why did NASA check to see which congressional district got which grant? Not exactly “transparent” or “open”.

Shouldn’t come as a surprise- both NASA and NSF generate statistics on a per congressional district basis. I received a call for my Senator’s office thanking me for a recent NSF grant just weeks after it was awarded, so they must do notifications as well.

Why do these people continue wasting time and money measuring the effects of microgravity on the human body when they should be measuring the effects off partial gravity exposure on the human body in a microgravity environment?

Claiming we still don’t have all of the answers is an admission to blatant ignorance to the fact that humans must use partial gravity while going to and from Mars. All other excuses also alienate the public who will eventually turn against this type of repetitive study that ultimately leads to nowhere.

It is time for a brave and courageous investigator to lead the way and begin the study of partial gravity exposure on the human body before we actually go to Mars.

Something tells me the inspiration of these investigations is controlled by il-informed authoritative figures instead of true scientists who possess the thirst for knowledge.

You know, the Wright brothers probably never thought you could fly an airplane upside down and yet someone brave enough tried.
