Frank Wolf's Weekly Hearings on NASA and China
Oversight Hearing – National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Oversight of NASA – Statement of Paul K. Martin NASA Inspector General
Keith’s note: For some reason today’s hearing with the NASA OIG will not be webcast. So much for trying to be open and transparent.
Keith’s update: According to someone present at the hearing, Rep. Wolf focused a lot of this attention on news reports of a Chinese national who had been hired by LaRC. Wolf also asked Martin about ARC. Rep. Fattah suggested that if there are Chinese nationals employed by NASA that there should be some Americans employeed at at Chinese space centers. Wolf and Fattah then asked NASA for a list of the NASA employees currently working at Chinese space centers.

Wolf is a walking, talking example of government waste. If he had the courage of his convictions, and a little intellectual honesty, he would defund himself and/or resign.
And every Democrat is a pillar of fiscal responsibility?
Folks:
“This hearing will not be webcast.”
So much for open government. Does Wolf have a reason (aside from embarrassment) to hold the hearing ‘in camera’?

Maybe is wasn’t Wolf who made it “opaque.” That would be encouraging, if somebody else is showing the good sense to hide his public bigotry from the world. Who’s afraid of Frank Wolf!
“Who’s afraid of Frank Wolf!”The answer is pretty clear. Since Wolf is supported by the entire GOP caucus, NASA is, with some justification, afraid he will slash their budget to show them who is boss, as he did with the OSTP.
Their web site seems to be down. I’m getting “This webpage is not available” at 2:22 p.m. on Wednesday.

I believe Wolfe is a good man and excellent Representative. Perhaps there are national security issues involved. I don’t know. I would like to know how a Chinese National has any access whatsoever to USG data. We are our own worst enemies!
In another post here at NASAWatch, it is shown that NASA managers gave it to him by circumventing existing procedures and safeguards.
This again shows a common theme at NASA: “Lack of discipline.”
Cooperation brings long lasting peace. NASA is about the only division of the US government who has little/no interaction with China. Sometimes we wonder why. Our generation will fade away and hope we leave behind a better world for our children.
