How Commercial Companies Are Advancing Space Exploration, Newsy
“He says, ‘I want to die on Mars, just not on impact,'” editor for Spaceref.com Keith Cowing said. “I’ve known Elon forever, for like 20 years. I met him when he was actually a kid and I was a lot younger with less gray hair. So, for him to do this doesn’t surprise me. He’s always just been as awed by this stuff as anybody else, which I think is kind of important when you’re trying to do audacious things.”

I am very hopeful that Musk can take us to Mars. For decades we have been looking for an architect to get the space program out of the doldrums. Musk is the man. But his leadership will need to survive for awhile.

I hope that a productive way can be found to increase the relative tax burden of the wealthy (which has shrunk to an illogically- and embarrassingly-low level in the US), without gutting the resources needed to press forward into the Cosmos.

Never quit. Never surrender. Go SpaceX. Kill SLS.
