Keith’s note: What are the odds that a tweet by both @ISS_CASIS and @GoldenSpikeCo – tweets that are exactly identical to each other – could be posted simultaneously using the same Twitter App? I called @ISS_CASIS on this and their tweet suddenly disappeared. Here is a screen grab I took from TweetDeck just before @ISS_CASIS deleted their tweet. Is CASIS (paid by NASA to do ISS utilization) now supporting commercial Moon exploration efforts?

Keith’s update: Apparently this was a Tweetdeck glitch (yes they happen).

  1. There was a momentary glitch on TweetDeck while posting to the Golden Spike account that caused a simultaneous and accidental posting on the CASIS feed. There is no relationship between Golden Spike and CASIS, and it appears that TweetDeck resolved its own glitch resulting in the tweet disappearing in the CASIS feed shortly after it was posted.

    1. I’m curious how this “glitch” came about and how TweetDeck resolved the issue itself. Are you saying that Tweetdeck on its own posted a link from the Golden Spike account to the CASIS account. That would be a very serious problem as how could the Golden Spike account have access to the CASIS account.

Or is it the same person who tweets for both of these accounts, as a representative to these organizations, and they accidentally tweeted to both accounts.

I’m sure it was inadvertent, but is it a problem with the Tweetdeck platform or something else. If it’s a Tweetdeck issue then those who use it should consider using something else. After all, who knows where a tweet might wind up.

      1. Yes, the accounts are managed by the same person and that a tweet was posted for The Golden Spike Company, but it then somehow appeared on the CASIS feed at the same time. We did not choose that option on Tweetdeck, but it appeared and then disappeared within a minute or two, which is why we assumed Tweetdeck fixed it on its own. We truly don’t know how it resolved itself or occured in the first place, but it did. Again, there is no connection between CASIS and Golden Spike.

        1. I really do not think that this behavior is something Tweetdeck would do. I use it every day and while it has its quirks, this is not one of them. Someone clearly made a mistake. Admit it and move on.

    1. Huh?  I posted something, and then posted a revision/clarification – leaving my original post so that people could see what I originally said. What do you want me to do – just delete the post and not explain things?  Then you’d dump on me for that.

  2. Keith, aren’t you going to apologize; hold yourself accountable as you expect so many others to do?’

    1. Keith posted a comment in the original post. There’s no need for an apology. It was a legitimate question before someone chimed in about the issue, which BTW is still not properly explained.

  3. If one uses a mode of communication that typically has a S/N ~ 1, this should not be a huge surprise, or news for that matter.
