Keith’s note: this Apple iPhone ad opens with a Artemis II pic saying “Once you’ve gone to the Moon where do you go next?” The ad closes with “This is what happens when you go to the Moon.” The undeniable coolness of Space is used to promote a global brand. This product placement only happened because of a multi-billion dollar NASA mission. Yet no one at NASA thought to get NASA or its logo featured? Really? Missed opportunity.

Unsurprising. The tRump maladministration is set to piratize NASA and the Park Service, and anything else not nailed down.
The Agency can’t look as though it is endorsing a product. If the NASA logo is used in the as it needs approval, approval indicates endorsement.
Based on some experience being involved with payloads on ISS and Orion, my guess is Apple asked about including the NASA logo, and NASA emphatically said no, saying it would be a taxpayer funded endorsement.
