I am surprised by all the hype NASA has produced and the media blindly accepts that this vehicle, Orion and SLS will land people on the Moon in a couple years. Unless Musk’s StarShip is proven no one will be landing on the Moon.
Poor kid is going to be waiting a long time. At least he’ll get to grow up in the Starship era.
It isnt just the Artemis generation waiting and watching at the Cape. From social media posts there must be hundreds of NASA people who have flown in from all over the country. Apparently a week of hotels and restaurants is cheaper than flying home, regardless of whether their jobs actually require their presence or not.
One thing we’ve learned in the past two years is that people can work from home. And not just from home. With a laptop and good internet connections, you can work from just about anywhere, including a hotel.
The hotels around the Cape are also pretty flexible about reservations. You can book a hotel with a checkout date of “the day after the launch”.
They can work from wherever, better to stay in Florida on the taxpayer’s dime.
Seems like engine had chill-down problems on the green run. https://www.youtube.com/wat…
