Keith’s note: Amidst the ever present fear of being fired (without any real details), having budgets cut and missions cancelled, Janet Petro wants your ideas on how to improve NASA. And you only have one week to submit them. And just like the “Five Things What I Did Last Week” thing, memo there are 5 questions. FYI when I go to https://forms.office.com/g/opuPtHnrRg I get a 404 – that may be because I am outside the firewall. But based on input from inside NASA the link does work. Embrace the challenge y’all. Janet’s memo – and the questionnaire form located online inside the firewall below:

At NASA, we take pride in tackling tough challenges, finding smarter ways to work, and ensuring every resource is used to advance our mission. Agencywide, there are opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and strengthen how we operate. No one knows those opportunities better than you.

To capture insights, we’re launching the Efficiency Ideas submission form – a place to share ideas on how we can improve the way we work. You can submit ideas anonymously or include your contact information if you’d like to be available for follow-up. We encourage you to be specific and succinct so we can identify the most actionable ideas.

To help inform our phase two submission for President Trump’s “Workforce Optimization Initiative,” we encourage submissions by Thursday, April 10. However, the tool will remain open beyond that date as we continue seeking ways to improve our operations.

Submit your efficiency ideas:

https://forms.office.com/g/opuPtHnrRg

NASA senior leadership will review submissions, prioritizing ideas based on feasibility, cost impact, and alignment with our mission. Some ideas may be assigned to directorates or program offices for further development. We’ll keep you updated on the ideas that move forward.

Your expertise and creativity drive NASA’s success, and I look forward to seeing the solutions you propose. Thank you for your commitment to making this agency stronger.

Embrace the Challenge,

Janet

The diplomatic form that is begging you to name names of who to fire. So it begins.

I can’t think of many others who’d be eager to respond to this ill-timed stab at “teamwork” and–uh–“inclusion”, except for those hoping to shift the RIF targets away from their own department and perhaps the enthusiastic CS supporters thrilled to imagine themselves as part of the DOGE team.
I really think that the original idea behind the “5 Bullet Points” plan was to open *those* to public scrutiny, so that a volunteer pool of citizens could nominate civil servants for the chopping block based on their uninformed interpretation of the jobs.
