Keith’s note: Fact check (sigh) The plans to return Suni and Butch were made in the middle of 2024 – well before the election but the White House still prefers their own revisionist version i.e. “Last month, we saw the same strength again when I ordered the rescue of stranded astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, whose 8-day mission turned into a 286-day journey aboard the International Space Station. It was the vitality of our Nation’s space programs that rose to the challenge and brought them safely home.” Whatever.

No, not “whatever.” They want us to checkout and not call them on it. We need to do it, and do it consistently (as you just did).

It’s even worse when the mainstream press doesn’t call them on it. I can’t count how many times I saw a major newspaper or TV station talk about how they were stranded on the station. The astronauts were never standed, yet took the easy way out (plus, a story of stranded astronauts helps to pull in views). Argh!!!

One thing to note: many astronauts come to the Oval Office after major events, but Butch and Suni have not. Will they ever? I wonder if Suni has refused to go along with the fiction, is Butch more accepting of the MAGA line? Butch Wilmore’s church certainly pushed the fiction that he needed to be “lifted up” and more.
