Bill Nye “The Science Guy” Joins Astronaut John Grunsfeld and Other Space Luminaries to Launch Space Cadets 4 Harris with Virtual Fundraiser. Congressional candidate George Whitesides, former NASA administrator and astronaut Charlie Bolden, Republican NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe, Star Trek actor Robert Picardo, aerospace exec Lauren Lyons, private astronaut Sirisha Bandla among others launching Space Cadets 4 Harris on Thursday. The Space Cadets 4 Harris initiative, created by former NASA Astronaut John Grunsfeld, today announced it will host a star-studded, space and science themed virtual fundraising event on Thursday, August 15 at 8:00 pm EST with all proceeds benefiting the Harris-Walz Presidential Campaign.

Space Cadets 4 Harris is bringing together a community of people from diverse backgrounds to facilitate insightful dialogues and advance the future of space exploration and democracy. The fundraising event will highlight the achievements and contributions of our nation’s advances in space exploration, as we look ahead to how our community will shape the upcoming election. 

Speakers will come from a variety of backgrounds in the space, science, and science fiction communities, including: 

• Bill Nye “The Science Guy”
• John Grunsfeld, Astronaut and Hubble Repairman, former NASA Chief Scientist and NASA Associate Administrator for Science
• George Whitesides, candidate for California’s 27th District, former CEO of Virgin Galactic, former NASA Chief of Staff 
• Major General Charlie Bolden, Astronaut, 12th NASA Administrator under President Obama
• Sean O’Keefe, 10th NASA Administrator under President George W. Bush, former Secretary of the Navy under George H.W. Bush
• Robert Picardo: Emmy-nominated actor, Holographic Doctor on seven seasons of “Star Trek: Voyager”
• Sirisha Bandla, Virgin Galactic Astronaut, third Indian Woman to go to space
• Camille Bergin, Space Tech Content Creator @TheGalacticGal
• Mike Okuda, Star Trek lead artist
• Lauren Lyons, former launch company executive, aerospace engineer, space startup advisor
• Ross Morales Rocketto, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Run for Something, Lead Organizer of White Dudes for Harris
