Reports: Laptop infected with virus on space station, USA Today

“A laptop on the International Space Station is infected with a virus, according to SpaceRef, a website that covers the space program.”

NASA is currently reviewing the incident and may make procedural recommendations based on its findings, SpaceRef.com reported, suggesting that a flash card or USB drive brought on board by an astronaut may have been the source of the laptop infection.

The possible source, according to SpaceRef.com: a software download, a personal flash card or USB storage device. The site also reports that some laptops used in the ISS lack virus protection and detection software.
