Most of these people are sad, disgusting, and usually have an ax to grind because, in their minds, they were somehow beat out by a woman or a minority. I hear it from people here every day.
It’s a sickness.
There are plenty of people who were “beat out” (as you say) by women or minorities even though the individuals who were selected and placed clearly had no appropriate education, experience…..that was sad and disgusting and it has made NASA what it is today-the entire organization went downhill over the last quarter century.
DEI does not mean go find inexperienced, uneducated people to fill jobs.
DEI is a tap on the shoulder of qualified women, poc and disabled people to tell them there is a job opportunity and put in a resume for it, because the employer does not want all staff to be male, as if we are living in Afghanistan.
DEI, is the solution to extremely mediocre and unqualified white males taking jobs from HIGHLY QUALIFIED women, poc and the disabled.
The way republicans spit on DEI is scary because it means they want to turn the USA into a taliban value system. No women and no disabled.
Stupid democrats have no idea how to get the messaging across on DEI.
You wanna be the powerful big brother to the taliban, DOGE??? Then keep doing EXACTLY what you are doing. This admin closely mirrors taliban values not western democracies.
Unfortunately my personal experience was that the white male would always lose out to the minority. In many cases the minorities selected did not even have an interest in the job. They’d be selected, get their promotion and in a matter of months, weeks in some cases, they were gone.
In one case one minority individual was selected to be at the top of the organization. He then selected several individuals who were minorities just like himself to fill lower but still top level positions. After awhile a lot of the experienced and proven capable people just gave up.
Sorry but your answer reads as typical russian divide and conquer or “oligarchy let me distract white poor people” with brown meat, so I can steal everything the country has in its government piggy bank.
Personally I would never entertain your type of bait but divide and conquer techniques work real well with ALL of the red states, get no traction in blue states and swing states will eat the bait if they’re feeling broke.
I wouldn’t have much of a problem if affirmative action/ DEI was implemented at NASA as simply broadening the applicant pool. It was not. It quickly devolved into quotas and reverse discrimination. In fact it was implemented almost as poorly and heavy handed as the dismantling of DEI is occuring now. I do disagree that the racial composition of NASA is more important than excellence at NASA. Given the gender and racial demographics of the engineering and science population of the US insisting that NASA demographics mirror the US population as a whole will inevitably result in reverse discrimination.
I really hope the Democrats don’t run on restoring the DEI regime. We need to work on providing opportunity to become an engineer or scientist. These programs should be based on income and not race or gender. If they wound up mainly helping people who have been systematically discriminated against and economically excluded for generations that would be more than alright with me.
This comment goes all in on divide and conquer techniques. Throw poor whites brown meat to angrily chew on, while the rich STEAL EVERYTHING in the government piggy bank.
And don’t you worry, with mediocre, inept and uneducated white men making war plans on unsecured signal apps, The white male head of congress making mafia style threats to dismantle the federal judiciary, layoffs of thousands of veteran fed workers into the economy by the all white male crew of doggy — when the history books post images of all the people who burned the USA to its ashes, it will be the third reich dream team — all white males. No brown person will have that dishonorable distinction.
