NASA PAO Comment on Buyouts/Layoffs

NASA RIF WATCH 2.0
Keith’s note: NASA PAO just sent this out: “NASA is continuing its phased approach to streamline its workforce and reduce its overall headcount. All NASA civil servants received notification Monday the agency is offering a Deferred Resignation Program, Voluntary Early Retirement Authority, and/or Voluntary Separation Incentive Program. This affords employees the opportunity to depart while ensuring the agency remains fully capable to pursue its mission. Eligibility for these programs will vary depending on each employee’s individual situation.”

Okay one day I can say is there needs to be a lot of focus on core projects which you know major global satellite platform such as Nancy Grace and Corsa James Webb or very beneficial to even have the space program and then additionally the foremost the Artemis mission we need to focus on that regardless of what we achieve but we have some good things laid out we just need to put more attention to them so slimming down in other areas is key while civil science can take care of the rest
I agree to slimming down as far as unnecessary expenses. Procurement and MOSTLY FTE. However, this whole plan is going contractor/commercial only NASA. Contractors are now doing thrice the work with the Gov employees retiring. Just going to leave that there.
I’m using text to speech so please excuse my previous grammar there You actually say “okay one thing”
