Keith’s note: According to CNBC: “President Donald Trump has met with Jared Isaacman to discuss another nomination to lead NASA, a source familiar with the talks confirmed to CNBC’s Morgan Brennan. Trump and Isaacman have had multiple in-person meetings in recent weeks to talk about the Shift4 founder’s vision for the space program, according to Bloomberg citing a person familiar with the meetings.”

It is amazing that people give trump chance after chance after chance. If jared is appointed NASA Administrator – can he be confident that he will have the job from day to day? So jared gets up every day wondering what trump has committed him to over night, what programs trump has canceled last nigh, who laura loomer has fired last night…
Certainly jared would love the job – the prestige, the historical note, etc. But he will have no assurance that any decision he makes will stick.
And … if he can navigate those potholes and landmines and get NASA vectored in the right direction – or at least try his level best to do so … I’d rather have someone try and do the right thing than a temp employee who has another – much larger – agency to run at the same time as he does photo ops at NASA.
I was VERY hesitant for Isaacman, but after his comments on how much he supports Science (and most restored in the House and Senate), Jared as Administrator would be some good news in the recent sea of bleakness.
