WikiLeaks Reveals UFO ?Messages in Clinton Campaign Emails, Wall Street Journal (subscription)
“The former lead singer of the band Blink 182 was in recent contact with Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta about UFOs, newly disclosed emails show. Tom DeLonge, who was the guitarist for the power punk trio best known for songs like “Dammit” and “What’s My Age Again,” emailed Mr. Podesta at least twice. He wrote in cryptic terms about their well-documented mutual interest in more government disclosure about the phenomenon of unidentified flying objects of potential extraterrestrial origin. The emails, released by the website Wikileaks this month, also reveal that Mr. Podesta participated in a documentary that Mr. DeLonge is producing. Mr. Podesta, who has worked in the highest levels of government in the administrations of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, has expressed interested in the topic. And he has long championed further government disclosure around classified files concerning UFOs.”

    Interesting that Podesta is into this stuff. DeLonge has been interested in it for a long time – one of the songs on Enema of the State was literally called “Aliens Exist”, and that was back in 1999.

    As some people know, Apollo astronaut Edgar Mitchell has always been as nutty as they come (no idea how he made the psychologist’s cut to fly in space) and has now had the honor to appear in Wikileaks stolen emails:

    Dear John (Podesta),
    As 2015 unfolds, I understand you are leaving the Administration in February.
    It is urgent that we agree on a date and time to meet to discuss Disclosure and Zero Point Energy, at your earliest available after your departure.
    My Catholic colleague Terri Mansfield will be there too, to bring us up to date on the Vatican’s awareness of ETI.
    Another colleague is working on a new Space Treaty, citing involvement with Russia and China. However with Russia’s extreme interference in Ukraine, I believe we must pursue another route for peace in space and ZPE on Earth.
    I met with President Obama’s Honolulu childhood friend, US Ambassador Pamela Hamamoto on July 4 at the US Mission in Geneva, when I was able to tell her briefly about zero point energy.
    I believe we can enlist her as a confidante and resource in our presentation for President Obama.
    I appreciate Eryn’s assistance in working with Terri to set up our meeting.

    fail to follow what you are saying. Mitchel is a Class 1A crank. Take a look at his website. It is a tsunami of flake pseudoscience. BTW – he was a total flake BEFORE apollo 14
    He may or may not be nuttier than Moon Hoaxers, but so what? He still wins the Planter’s Peanut Nutroll Award. He is responsible for the study of MIND CONTROL CHOCOLATE!

    This is a cut and paste of my post 8 months ago when Mitchell died:

    I respect Mitchell as an astronaut and thank him for his performance of duty, but… he was famous for decades as a serious flake and nutcase. He devoted his life to zany pseudoscience craziness (including his organization testing mind-control chocolate). He makes even Robert Bigelow look rational!

    Why do I seem so annoyed with him parlaying his influence into promoting the Army of the Night?
    Because I stand with Isaac Asimov:
    “I stand four-square for reason, and object to what seems to me to be irrationality, whatever the source.
    If you are on my side in this, I must warn you that the army of the night has the advantage of overwhelming numbers, and, by its very nature, is immune to reason, so that it is entirely unlikely that you and I can win out.
    We will always remain a tiny and probably hopeless minority, but let us never tire of presenting our view, and of fighting the good fight for the right.”

    Of course, Mitchell was not alone in astronaut crankness. They include, among others, Jim Irwin of Apollo 15, a fervent creationist who went on expeditions to find Noah’s Ark, or Gene Cernan, who was a wacky Obama Birther.
