Be Prepared For A RIF
NASA RIF WATCH 2.0

Keith’s note: I have heard from 6 senior people today that RIFs at NASA are openly discussed – now – as a distinct possibility. Indeed NASA management is being told to urge more people to leave in advance. Casey, Janet, Vanessa et al are playing with semantics as they did today at the Town Hall when they try and convince you otherwise. NASA Needs at least 3,000+ more people to be gone according to existing downsizing plans. Be prepared.

Nope. Not giving up a dream career over political nonsense. They can RIF me, so be it, but I’m never going to walk away.

RIFs will vary by center and department. Looks pretty bad for NASA folks.

Just in case people are reading, if ESA were to offer positions to NASA worker they could get a ton of top level technical expertise….

Our leadership is sad and hilarious at the same time.

Why would I leave early when it’s less than what I would get if I got RIF’d?

And it’s obvious that Brian Hughes is who is running NASA at the present time.

Janet said 85% of our money goes out the door with contractors, that being said not feeling any security at NASA as I’m a contractor.

I was disappointed to hear leadership deny that there is any talk about a RIF. This is so painfully obvious. The robotic half hour of teleprompter messaging was a huge waste of time. Like others, I will be holding out until the end – hoping my time here lasts beyond the current administration.
